So you want to buy a new PC, but you don't know what to choose?
Don't worry, you're not alone. Buying a new PC is far more complicated than it should be, with so many options, styles and brands. Where do you start? At Titan Tech we believe buying a computer should be an easy and fun experience so we are going to break this down as simply as we can.
The first stop on your PC buying adventure should be setting a budget and sticking to it. Which we all know can be very hard, adding 20$ here and 70$ there, now all of a sudden you have a $6,500 computer in your cart. Make sure you set a budget and stick to it. Generally, as a rule of thumb, $2,200 is more than enough to purchase a decent gaming PC or workstation.
Another challenging hurdle is selecting brands and models. Now we probably shouldn't be saying this, but the reality is that 90% of brands and parts will do the same thing and most people will hardly notice a difference between parts. The reality is that a $2,000 PC will do the same thing as a $5,000 PC, they will just do this at different speeds.
If your intention is just to do some casual gaming - GTA V, Fortnite, Apex, Warzone, CSGO, LoL, Valorant, etc, etc. Then you don't need a crazy high-end PC. We sell many computers under $2,300 that come with RTX 3060's & Intel i5 / Ryzen 5's which will perform perfectly in titles like this.
The only situation we could justify spending over $3,000 is in a select few circumstances
A. Playing 1440P (2k) or 2160P (4k) Games at high FPS.
B. Any form of streaming, video editing, photoshopping, workstation use.
C. If you can afford it, go for it!
So now you know how much you want to spend. Your next step is selecting parts. We find the easiest way to do this is to go online, find a range of computers that suit your budget, make a list of parts in each PC, and watch some benchmarking videos for each computer. For example;
The Titan Mark III AMD comes with a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3060ti
So we would go to YouTube, and search for a benchmark video for this combination. Just like this video! We find this to be one of the most reliable ways to get a good estimate of the performance of a PC in different games.
We believe that for most gamers, around 100-130 FPS is more than enough for a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience. The leap from 60fps to 144 FPS is very noticeable however the next jump up to 240 FPS is not as noticeable but considerably more expensive to achieve. With this in mind, we think that aiming for around 120 FPS is a great target to make sure you will love your new PC!
Now that we have thrown all this information at you, let's explain how we like to sell computers at Titan Tech to make this as easy as possible. Almost all of our computers come with the same base kit. Either an RTX 3060 or 3060ti paired with an Intel i5 or Ryzen 5. We make sure every computer has at least 16GB of ram and a 500GB NVMe SSD. This is a great base frame work that will give you great bang for your buck.
Now what that means is, all you have to do, is choose one of our computers that you think looks the best, and you're good to go! Easy as that! (If you want to make some custom upgrades for extra performance just compare the specs to benchmark videos).
